This is a case study of a home energy storage battery installation from Austria.

Release time: 2025-10-21

Project Background

The Gruber family, owners of a detached house in Tyrol, Austria, sought to maximize the use of their rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system to cope with rising electricity prices (up to €0.40/kWh during peak hours) and improve energy self-sufficiency. The Austrian government provides a subsidy of €200/kWh for residential battery storage systems, significantly improving the economics of such systems.

Project Description

stacked residential energy storage system was installed in the Gruber home, working in conjunction with the existing rooftop PV panels. The stacked design saves space. The system optimizes switching between PV power generation, grid connection, and battery storage.

User Feedback

"This system operates very quietly and reliably, giving us peace of mind when using electricity in the mountainous winter. It helps us maximize the use of our own PV power, significantly saving on electricity bills, and also contributing to environmental protection." — Mr. Gruber

Project Value

Improves household electricity self-sufficiency, saves on electricity bills, ensures power supply stability, and contributes to environmental protection and emissions reduction.
